Homecoming and Competition #3: October 17-22

We have a full schedule this week with Homecoming and the Cavalier Classic band competition. We would like to encourage everyone to attend/invite people to attend this competition. The performance time for the Marching Colonels is 3:15 PM at Lord Botetourt High School on Saturday, October 22, 2016. Since this is a local show and our final competition of the season, we are considering this a “home” show. Parents, please consider making the short drive to support your children. They will never forget the fact that you value their hours of hard work by attending performances! Students, please invite your family and friends. You have worked hard and deserve a large audience as we complete our competitions!

The Classic will be the most competitive of our events this year. We are in class 2A and are up against 5 other bands (including one who beat us last week). Certainly, our remaining marching band events after competitions are important. We want to do well for Senior Night and the parades. The success for those events is also dependent upon the work we put in this week.

The goal is once again to have the best performance we’ve ever had; we must “beat” ourselves first and foremost. This progress will mean more than any trophy. To attain this progress, we must have our most focused rehearsals of the entire season. We need every individual to be present and active during rehearsals and performances. Your team needs your positive attitude, focus, and hard work. Buy-in to the culture of commitment to excellence. Everyone contributes; everyone matters.
