WF Band Newsletter: May 21-25, 2018
Greetings, everyone:
I thoroughly enjoyed our time together during the band banquet on Friday. I felt that I was unable to adequately express my appreciation for your kind gifts and gestures. More than anything, I am appreciative that you are (and will continue to be) involved in our program. Thank you for your commitment to excellence. It makes me proud.
The busy month of May continues this week. On Monday, May 21 the WFHS Percussion and Jazz Ensembles will present a concert at 7:00 p.m. in William Fleming’s Dickinson Auditorium. The performances should last around 40 minutes. All WFHS band students are required to attend this performance as a part of their final exam grade. We hope many parents will also choose to attend and support the hard work of these ensembles.
Immediately following the performances, we will deliver the Spring Training presentation in the auditorium. At that time, calendars, forms, and other information will be presented. It is vital that you receive this information. All high school marching band students are required to attend with a parent or guardian. Any rising 8th or 9th grade student (and parents) who is signed up for marching band is encouraged to attend the concert and remain for the meeting.
Please ensure you continue to follow class timelines (attached) as we conclude the academic requirements for the year. A detailed schedule of events and other reminders are below. As always, you may contact the band office with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Mr. Stanley
