WF Band This Week: May 14-18, 2018

Congratulations on a great concert performance last week and thanks to all those who helped make the spring trip a great experience. A couple of photos are included below.

Of particular note this week, all marching band members should report at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15 for Spring Training! This is a very important kick-off to the marching season. Students report at 4:30 p.m. A free pizza dinner is provided in the auxiliary gym at 6:00 p.m. Parents are invited to join their child at this time for an important presentation. The annual calendar, vital forms, and other information is on the agenda. Currently, there are many fewer marching band commitments on file than there are interested individuals. PLEASE, make sure you turn in your commitments and attend spring training to ensure you are on the roster for the 2018 Marching Colonels. Our roster will be finalized after this meeting. Marching Band Commitment Contracts
Marching band registration is still open on our website!
There are approximately 25 people signed-up for Marching Colonels 2018. We know this is not an accurate number. PLEASE TURN IN YOUR COMMITMENT FORMS ASAP! Many returning members have not yet completed a form. Many current members who have expressed interest need encouragement. Let’s get the word out and ensure our roster is set by Spring Training on May 15!
Graduation Orchestra
The second rehearsal is 7:40-8:20 a.m. on Thursday, May 17 in the band room.
Selected woodwind, brass, and percussion players are asked to participate as we form a full orchestra for the graduation ceremonies. Hard copies of this memo contained a permission/medical form that was due last week.
Jazz Band
Final rehearsal this Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 3:45-5:00 p.m.
Concert is Monday, May 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Band Banquet
The annual banquet is Friday, May 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the WFHS Cafeteria.
Cost breakdown:
Seniors + 2 guests = free
Students who fundraised = free
All other guests/students = $10/ticket
Money is due this week ($10 cash preferred)
Tickets distributed day before banquet; must have a ticket to enter.
