Did you know that many notes have the different names but are the same pitch?  These are called enharmonics - notes that are spelled differently but sound the same.  

These commonly appear in our music.  By knowing one fingering or valve combination, you often actually know more than one note.  Here are the most common enharmonics:

• C# = Db

• D# = Eb

• E# = F natural

• F# = Gb

• G# = Ab

• A# = Bb

• B# = C natural
