Competition Week #3: October 9-14, 2017
We are excited for Competition Week #3! Thank you in advance for reading all the information in today’s post. We hope you enjoy Monday off and come back refreshed and ready to progress. 2017 has been an exciting path forward, making strides that would have been unthinkable in previous seasons. Let’s channel that energy into focused preparation, so that each performance is better than the last.
All students should be practicing regularly at home. Please read information in the announcements section regarding upcoming auditions for All City Band, part placement, and Wind Ensemble scale pass-offs.

Band Competition #3 – George Wythe Band Festival – George Wythe HS
The full itinerary is available here. Eat breakfast before arriving! A boxed lunch will be provided en route to George Wythe. Our performance time is 3:00 PM.
All-City/Part Placement Auditions
All students should be practicing for their All City Band and concert band part placement auditions. This is a major playing test grade for the 2nd 9 weeks.
Please note: this is separate from Wind Ensemble scale pass-offs.
The requirements for these auditions are attached and available on the website in the “what should I practice” box of the current member page.

Tuesday, October 17 – MB Rehearsal – 4:00 – 6:00 PM (*Possible Flex-Day, more information soon)
Thursday, October 19 – MB Rehearsal – 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Friday, October 20 – MB Rehearsal – 2:00 – 4:00 PM
Please note: 10.20.17 is an early dismissal day for RCPS. Our rehearsal will occur at the end of the school day, from 2:00-4:00 PM. Students will still get to take advantage of the “early dismissal” from marching band rehearsal.
Saturday, October 21 – Competition #4 (Lord Botetourt) – Times TBA
