Competition #1 Recap.
Congratulations to the Marching Colonels for their performance at the Blast in the Draft Band Festival held at Stuarts Draft High School on Saturday, September 23! The band performed in class 2A. There were six bands in our class and the competition was stiff. Our percussion section placed third in our class.
For reference, the Blast in the Draft was held nearly two weeks prior to our first 2016 contest. Our scores were comparable between the start of last season and this season. All things considered, our students have worked very hard to compete with a full field production in a short amount of time. Judges’ comments from Saturday included encouragement that the foundation is in place for success. More hard work and dedication can help us improve for our remaining competitions.
The Celtic Classic at Glenvar High School is on Saturday, September 30, 2017. The performance time for the Marching Colonels is 1:45 PM. We hope that you will consider taking the short drive to support us our second competition.
