Welcome to Marching Band Competition Season! For the next few weeks, our updates will contain very important details; thank you for reading today’s post fully.
Please familiarize yourself with the itinerary for our homecoming game and first competition. Homecoming includes the parade and a pre-game performance of our full competition show. Saturday’s contest includes important meal information and accommodations for those returning to school early for the dance.
Let us remember that our goal is to have the best performance we have ever had; we must “beat” ourselves first and foremost. It is this type of progress and development throughout the season that will eventually come to mean more for our program and sustain us through future years in the ways trophies cannot. We need every individual to be present and active during rehearsals and performances. Your team needs your positive attitude, focus, and hard work. Buy-in to the culture of commitment to excellence. Everyone contributes; everyone matters.

Announcements, Updates, Information
Homecoming Football
To accommodate homecoming court activities during halftime, the band will perform the entire field show at pre-game, and a smaller portion during halftime. Please plan to arrive to the stadium by 6:40 PM to see the performance and support our students. They will be performing lots on Friday – parade at 6, show at 6:40, Star-Spangled Banner and Fight Song at 6:50, music during the game, and a halftime presentation. Please show your appreciation and support by attending!
Band Competition #1
It is VERY IMPORTANT that everyone eat a good full breakfast before arriving to school on Saturday morning. Students will receive a snack en route to the competition around 10:30. Our warm-up and performance occur during the middle of the day. Concession stand lunch/dinner will be available after our performance. In order to get bus #2 back for the homecoming dance as soon as possible, a lunch stop will not be available for those students. All students are encouraged to pack a small lunch (sandwich) if they would like to eat more than a breakfast-type snack on the way to Stuarts Draft.
2017 MB Fee
We request a $50 “fair-share” fee of each marching band member. This money helps pay for our t-shirts, uniform maintenance, competition fees, meals, etc. Remember, NO ONE is ever excluded due to financial difficulty and you may always approach Mr. Stanley with issues. All financial conversations are kept confidential. The 2017 MB fee was due. Sept. 1. Please see Mr. Stanley to check your individual status if you have questions/concerns.
