WF Band Weekly: August 28 - September 1, 2017

Congratulations to the Marching Colonels on their performances last week. We had great responses to the State of the City Address. Our first football game helped teach us what we are doing well, and what we can work to improve in the future.

Please take note of the weekly schedule and announcements below. Several due dates for band class items are coming up, as well as important marching band rehearsals to learn the rest of the show! 2017 MB Fee
We request a $50 “fair-share” fee of each marching band member. This money helps pay for our t-shirts, uniform maintenance, competition fees, meals, etc. Remember, NO ONE is ever excluded due to financial difficulty and you may always approach Mr. Stanley with issues. All financial conversations are kept confidential. The 2017 MB fee is due by the end of this week, September 1.
Class Syllabus
This document provides specific information about behavioral and academic expectations. Students received this in hard copy last week. Electronic copies are available on the forms page of this website. Please detach and return the small portion of the page at the bottom that is the syllabus contract. This is a required, graded assignment for band. Due dates are listed in the schedule above.
Instrument Loan Contract
This document is required for those students utilizing school-owned instruments during the academic year. A pink sheet of paper will be sent home requiring parent and student signature. This is a grade and should be returned according to the due dates posted.
Band Calendar
Hard copies of the calendar will be distributed in class this week. Electronic versions are available on the website. The calendar lists all required/important dates from now until June 2018. Calendar revisions will be published throughout the year and students will receive a new hard copy with each revision. The schedule of revision dates is published on pg. 3 of each class syllabus.
Band Handbook
The band handbook is the governing document for all band policies, procedures, and expectations. Each member received a hard copy. Handbook forms were due on the second day of class last week. An electronic version of the handbook is posted on the forms page.
