WF Band Moving Forward: April 24-28, 2017

Welcome Back!

We hope everyone was able to rest, relax, practice, and enjoy themselves during Spring Break. There is very little time before we finish the school year.

Many events occur this week: drum major, drum line, color guard, leadership interviews, and jazz band. Please read the schedule and announcements below.

Band Schedule– April 24-28

Monday, April 24
Drum Major Training – 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Drum Line Clinic #2 – 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, April 25
Drum Line Auditions – 4:00 p.m. (first come, first served – you may leave when finished)
Color Guard Clinic #1 – 4:30-6:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 26
Leadership Interviews – starting at 3:45 p.m.
Sign-up for a time slot on the music library door
Thursday, April 27
Jazz Band – 3:30-5:00 p.m.
Color Guard Clinic #2 – 4:30-6:00 p.m.

Announcements, Updates, and Information

Marching Band commitment contracts were distributed in hard-copy before break. We encourage you to register online. Commit to a tradition of pride and excellence today!
A revised April/May 2017 calendar is published. Please familiarize yourself with our end of the year events and preparatory events for next year. You can download a copy here.
2017 marching band leadership interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, April 26. Students received hard copy materials before break. Please sign-up for a time slot on the music library door. Candidates auditioning for drum major do not need to participate in these interviews.
Drum Line clinics continue on Monday; auditions on Tuesday. An introductory letter is here. Please see Mr. Stanley for additional information.
Color Guard clinics are on Tuesday, April 25 and Thursday, April 27 from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. This is a great way for people who may not play an instrument, but who want to be in marching band can get involved. Please spread the word and have anyone interested contact Instructor Ms. Dawn Claytor or Mr. Stanley.
