Concert Assessment Memo
All band classes are fully focused on preparing for Concert Assessment. Several events make up this major performance. All are outlined on this memo, which will be distributed in hard copy to the students in class this week. Please ask your students for the memo and take a moment to read the information.
It is expected that all students will practice their instrument at home (this is “homework” for band) and will attend the events listed. The events are mandatory and make-up a major part of students’ grades. Attendance and practice expectations are outlined in the course syllabus/band hand book, distributed in August 2016. Excused absences are considered on a case-by-case basis. This year, the final ensemble that attends Concert Assessment will be determined by meeting in-class, rehearsal, homework, practice, and performance expectations. Those students not making positive contributions to our ensemble will be given an alternate assignment to earn credit for the performance.
The hard copy students received contains necessary paperwork. We request the 2 permission and 1 medical form be returned by Friday, February 10.
Detailed itineraries will be distributed in class next week. These are already posted on the website.
