Merry Christmas from William Fleming Bands!
This week, we finish 2016 performances with the Fine Arts Winter Showcase. These are in-school performances for middle and high school students. Information about what to do on Monday is below. Also below, read about the spring trip, exams, chair auditions, and the 2017 calendar.
Thank you to all students, families, friends, and supporters for helping to make 2016 very successful for our program. Have a warm Holiday season filled with special music and lots of joy. Here’s to the great things in store for 2017!
Monday, December 19 – Winter Showcase
Come to school wearing ALL BLACK performance attire
Set-up with instrument/music in band room.
After A1 performance, go to A2/lunch as normal.
At end of A2/lunch, come to band room for A3 performance.
Make-Up Exams
If you still need to complete your exam, we will do make-up testing while waiting for our performance times on Monday.
January-May 2017 calendar
The latest calendar version was distributed in hard-copy in class last week.
PLEASE be sure you are using this most recent version. A few changes have been made to the copy originally distributed in August 2016.

Spring Trip
2nd deposit was due Friday, December 16
Balance report sheets were sent home with students on Wednesday and Thursday of last week
Please contact Mr. Stanley with individual questions/concerns.
MANDATORY trip meeting: Monday, January 9 – 5:30 PM in band room. All parents/students going on the trip should be at this meeting.
Chair Auditions
Information and rubric were distributed in class last week.
All information is posted on Current Members and Audition Central pages.
We will do some additional preparation and sight-reading on Monday/Tuesday.
PLEASE take your instruments home over the break! Practice your scales and new music. Your individual work will ensure that our progress since August is not lost and help us take a step toward a SUPERIOR performance at Concert Assessment!
