Happy Thanksgiving from WF Band! November 21-22, 2016

Monday, November 21, we have a required after-school band rehearsal from 3:30-5:00 PM. This serves as a “litmus test” for our winter concert, guiding our preparation and plans for after the Thanksgiving Holiday. All classes will have the Ab concert scale playing test in class this week. Schedule items are listed for the next two weeks. The week after Thanksgiving is very full with events and deadlines. December is always a busy time for musicians; we look forward to celebrating the Season with excellent music.

On a personal note, I hope you will all consider remembering our band program and school community in your moments of giving thanks this week. Staying focused toward the end of a long semester, finding good news in the news, remaining positive and friendly—sometimes it can feel like a real chore. But, the fact that 70 unique individuals come to school each day, sit together for an hour, listen to each other, make music together, to serve causes and communities greater than themselves, this is something for which we can and should be truly thankful. I am grateful for the privilege of serving as your director.
