Competition Week #2: October 10-15
This update contains very important information; thank you for reading it fully. This week’s schedule has three full rehearsals: Monday, Thursday, and Friday. We are beginning competition week two!
Please notice the specific instructions on Saturday’s itinerary regarding meals. Rather extend our day by building in time for a meal stop, we have decided that the report time will be much later on Saturday morning (10:15 AM) and a boxed lunch will be provided on the bus on the way to the competition. Students are asked to bring $5 to Mr. Stanley at any time this week (deadline: Saturday morning). This will provide a sub sandwich, chips, cookie, and drink. Students should still bring money to eat dinner in the stadium.
Saturday’s event will be more competitive than our first. We are performing in a higher class division against bands that are well-prepared and well-established. Let us remember that our goal is to have the best performance we have ever had; we must “beat” ourselves first and foremost. It is this type of progress and development throughout the season that will eventually come to mean more for our program and sustain us through future years in the ways trophies cannot. We need every individual to be present and active during rehearsals and performances. Your team needs your positive attitude, focus, and hard work. Buy-in to the culture of commitment to excellence. Everyone contributes; everyone matters.
