Competition Week #1: September 26 - October 1, 2016

This is our first competition week of 2016! We had a very productive rehearsal last Thursday. Let’s make sure it is not “too little, too late.” Keep the intensity and momentum through all October rehearsals. Let’s show everyone who the Marching Colonels are.

The weekly schedule is below. All important information is also on this website and linked throughout the post. The drumline will play for the Special Olympics at school on Tuesday. A2 and A3 band classes have playing tests on Wednesday. Full marching rehearsals are Monday, Thursday, and Friday this week.

As of today, the weather forecast calls for chances of rain on Monday and Thursday. Come prepared! We will have rehearsal; there is always something we can do (musically or visually). Please be flexible, come with a good attitude, and be ready to work.

A competitive marching band is about more than just supporting our school; it is about representing our community and showing the value of this great activity. Competitions (rehearsals and the actual event) are hard work and long hours. But, they are great opportunities where people appreciate everything you do. We need every individual to be present and active during rehearsals and performances. Your team needs your positive attitude, focus, and hard work. Buy-in to the culture of commitment to excellence. Everyone contributes; everyone matters.
