Band Information: August 15-19, 2016
Our 2016 season begins in earnest next week as we take our band camp progress and begin to perform. Please take note of the schedule for next week and other important information.

Band Schedule – August 15-19, 2016
Monday, August 15
Drumline performs at RCPS Teacher Convocation
Meet at 7:30 AM in the band room; dismissed by 9:30 AM
Attire: band t-shirts, khaki shorts, tennis shoes

Tuesday, August 16
Percussion and Drum Major Rehearsal
3:30-5:30 PM
This is the first of the weekly Tuesday rehearsals that occur throughout the fall
Thursday, August 18
Full Marching Band Rehearsal
3:30-6:30 PM
This is the first of our weekly Monday and Thursday rehearsal that occur throughout the fall
Friday, August 19
Football Scrimmage vs. Magna Vista
5:30 – 8:30 PM (eat before you come)
We will use this as a “dress rehearsal” for football games
We will perform pre-game, 1st and 2nd quarter, and halftime. The band will leave after our halftime performance
Attire: band t-shirts, khaki shorts, tennis shoes

IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Marching Band annual fees are being accepted at this time. This is a one-time fee of $50. Payments accepted as cash or checks made to William Fleming High School. Fees are due by Friday, September 2. Please see Mr. Stanley if you have questions, concerns, or need more information. All financial conversations remain confidential.
Marching band students must have secured their white gloves and black shoes by August 20. Gently used shoes in first come, first served sizes are available from the band program by a $10 donation to the band boosters. New shoes and gloves can be purchased from Star City Music. Star City orders shoes, but does not always have all sizes in stock. Please visit them soon if you plan to order new shoes! Star City Music is located at 2030 East Main Street in Salem, VA.
