SPRING TRAINING ON TUESDAY! (and other announcements)

Congratulations to the Class of 2016! We appreciate their contributions; they will always be important members of our Colonel Band Family! Congratulations also to those who performed at Kings Dominion on Saturday. They earned another “Excellent” rating for our program and enjoyed a great day of fun!

Now, it is time to get excited for Marching Colonels 2016! This year’s halftime show, The Abyss, will focus on music of the ocean—the mysterious, the treacherous, the calm, and the hopeful. It is VITAL that we finalize our roster and numbers. Those who have not yet turned in a Commitment Contract should do so ASAP. A copy is attached to this email and you can also commit here.

The most important event this week is Marching Band Spring Training. This is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24 at 4:30 PM. Students will do a “crash course” rehearsal from 4:30-6:15, including some marching and some music.

At 6:30, all parents, guardians, and students will join in the cafeteria for a FREE pizza dinner! There will be a brief (20 minutes or less) presentation delivering all necessary information. After the presentation, several stations will be available for forms, fees, calendars, supplies, etc., etc.

This is a mandatory event for all those who plan on participating in marching band next year. However, if you are still undecided, please come to see what marching band is about and try it out!

  • Performance – Friday, May 27

  • 12:15 – 4:30 PM (meet at band room)
