Concert and Trip This Week: May 16-21

Welcome to the final stretch! This is perhaps one of the busiest weeks in the school year as we close 2015-2016. Next week, we fully begin preparation for 2016-2017. For now, please review all the important details and links below. Many of these relate to class grades and required activities. Thank you for your time and attention to these announcements.

  • Monday, May 16

  • Full Band Concert Rehearsal – 3:45-5:45 PM (auditorium)

  • This is our final rehearsal before the Spring Concert and the Spring Trip where we compete at Kings Dominion. Please make all efforts to be present for the entire rehearsal.

  • Tuesday, May 17

  • SPRING CONCERT – 7:00 PM

  • ALL BLACK performance attire – no exceptions!

  • Warm-Up Times:

  • Jazz Band – 6:00 PM

  • Percussion – 6:15 PM

  • Symphonic Band – 6:25 PM

  • Wednesday, May 18

  • Drum Major Auditions – 5:30 (beginning at this time to accommodate judges)

  • Saturday, May 21

  • SPRING TRIP – Call time: 6:00 AM; Return time (estimate): 12:30 AM (Sunday)

  • Click here for the final itinerary. A hard copy will be distributed in classes this week.

  • Any outstanding balances and forms should be returned ASAP!

  • Students attending should make sure their day clothes are school dress code appropriate.

  • For the performance attire: remember to have khaki pants/shorts and closed-toed shoes. Uniform “t-shirts” will be distributed on Saturday morning.

  • 2016 Marching Band Registration!

  • Commitment Contracts were due three weeks ago; please turn in ASAP so that we can begin planning!

  • Please visit our registration page to commit online!

  • Marching Band Spring Training

  • Tuesday, May 24, 2016 – 4:30 PM

  • MANDATORY for all students participating in marching band next year.

  • FREE pizza dinner and meeting at 6:30 in the cafeteria.

  • This will be a great event to get us excited and ready for next season!

  • Check out the flyer for more information.

  • Graduation Musicians

  • Some students have been asked to participate in graduation ceremonies to create a “full orchestra” with strings and winds. Those students have received a permission/medical form that should be returned by Friday, May 20.

  • Rehearsals are:

  • Thursday, May 19 – 7:30 – 8:30 AM

  • Monday, May 23 – 1:00 – 2:00 PM
