This Week in Band: April 25-29, 2016
Only five Mondays remain in this school year. We are busy working toward a strong finish and an organized beginning to 2016-2017! Please take note of the following announcements, attachments, and information.
Highlights include deadline for 2016 Marching Band registration, leadership applications/interviews, and spring concert preparations. Our annual Band Banquet is fast approaching. Mark your calendars for 6:30 PM on Friday, May 13.

Drum Major Training Session #3 – TOMORROW, Monday, April 25 – 3:30-5:00 PM (band room)
Leadership Interviews – Tuesday, April 26
Those who applied should sign-up for a time to complete a brief (~5 minute) interview after-school on Tuesday, April 26. If there are any conflicts, please see Mr. Stanley to schedule an alternate time.
Application paper and teacher recommendations are due this week.
Jazz Band – Thursday, April 28, 3:30-5:30 PM (band room)
Woodwind and Brass Playing Test – Friday, April 29 (in class)
Throughout the year we have in-class playing tests on fundamental scales.
Friday, April 29, woodwind and brass students will have a larger test that re-tests the Ab concert scale and contains selections from the concert music.
Hard copy of test material will be distributed during Monday’s class. Check the “What Should I Be Practicing” section of the Current Members page to review this online. You can also find reference recordings there.
*For percussionists – you will have a 3rd timpani test on Thursday during class. This test will focus primarily on the most missed material from the last two tests: timpani ranges and selecting drums.
