Concert Assessment Date


William Fleming will perform at the VBODA District VI Concert Assessment on Friday, March 4 at 3:15 PM.

A full itinerary will be released soon. We will leave school mid-morning, stop for lunch, and return between 5:00-5:30 PM. Students will need money for one meal and need to arrange transportation home Friday afternoon when we return. All the events surrounding Concert Assessment are detailed below:

Full Band Rehearsals

Thursday, February 18, 3:45 – 5:45 PM

Monday, February 22, 3:45 – 5:45 PM

Monday, February 29, 3:45 – 5:45 PM

Wednesday, March 2, 3:45 – 5:45 PM

Concerts

Detailed itineraries for both trips will be distributed in class in hard-copy.

Tuesday, February 23 – Pre-Assessment Concert @ PHHS

Call time: 5:45 PM

Performance: 7:05 PM (PHHS Auditorium, open to parents and friends!)

Return time: 9:30 PM

Friday, March 4 - District Concert Assessment @ Blacksburg H.S.

This is an excused school-day trip, departing mid-morning and returning between 5:00-5:30 PM. Students will need money for one meal. Full itinerary to be distributed in class next week.

What You Need:

  • Music

  • Instrument and all equipment

  • Concert Attire (see below)

  • Money (for one meal on March 4)

WFHS Band Concert Attire Guidelines

Ladies

  • Black Dress (must cover shoulders; if not ankle length, must have black hose or tights), OR black blouse (conservative neckline with shoulders and/or sleeves); with

  • Black skirt (with black hose or tights), OR black dress pants (no jeans, leggings, etc.)

  • Black dress shoes (closed-toe flats, conservative heels, marching band shoes, etc.; no sneakers, flip flops, etc.)

  • Limited jewelry

Gentlemen

  • Black dress shirt (tucked in), OR black polo shirt (tucked in); with

  • Black dress pants (no jeans)

  • Black belt

  • Black dress shoes/band shoes. (no sneakers, flip flops, etc.)

  • Tie and jacket are optional (if worn, must be black)

All concert attire must be solid black (no white, polka dots, stripes, etc.) and must comply with the school dress code. General rule: dress as though you were going to your grandparents’ church.
